Bio:

Gerry's performing career spans three decades and has seen her perform in Theatre, TV, Film, Variety and Cabaret. Her early work as a soubrette kept her busy with appearances in theatres across the UK including, New Theatre, Hull; Apollo Theatre, Oxford; Theatre Royal, Nottingham; Grand Theatre, Blackpool and Pavilion Theatre, Weymouth, to name a few, with variety stars such as Ken Dodd, Les Dawson and Keith Harris & Orville. Her work as a vocalist extended to international holiday venues, luxury hotels and even a stint on the infamous 'Achille Lauro' cruise ship.
On TV, she has enjoyed day players roles in both Coronation Street and Eastenders as well as appearing in a number of episodes of 'This Way Up' with Brian Connolly as his wife. Her lead role in Cliff Richard's music video, 'We should be together this Christmas' saw her featured on both 'This Morning' and 'The Gloria Hunniford Show'.

Gerry's recording work includes, backing vocals for regional shows and pantomimes, solo artistes albums and two Eurovision Song Contest entries.

Gerry enjoyed a number of years in performance management, producing, directing and choreographing shows, prior to running her own actors agency which closed its doors in 2007, after which Gerry took, (what turned out to be) a twelve-year hiatus from performing, whilst she completed a . in Counselling Studies and went on to work as as psychotherapeutic counsellor and ultimately as the Online Director of a well-known, national online counselling service for young people.
She continues to practice as a counsellor, working with those struggling with their mental health, alongside her career as an actor...two careers, she asserts, that share many parallels.

She came back to acting in 2018 with a showcase performance at The Lowry Theatre. Manchester. Since then, Gerry has performed in several short films, a couple of TV pilots, three theatre festivals and has written her first short play, which she staged in Liverpool this year which she is hoping to develop into a web series in 2025.

I’ve had a career of two halves. The first half spanning three decades working as an actor, singer and dancer performing in Theatre, TV, Film, Variety and Cabaret. I also enjoyed a number of years in performance management, producing, directing and choreographing shows, prior to running my own actors agency.

In 2007 I retrained as a counsellor and went on to become the Online Director of a national counselling service for children and young people.

I returned to acting in 2018 and also commenced training as a writer. My first short play, suitably entitled, ‘Her First Time’, was performed at Hope Street Theatre in Liverpool last year. .

Having turned the big 60 in July this year, I’ve vowed only to work on stuff that I feel excited and enthused about. Currently, I’m working on transforming my short play into a six part web series, which I aim to produce and film in 2024.
